GEO Health Community of Practice Telecon I - Focus on COVID-19 Activities

The GEO Health Community of Practice is pleased to host a Teleconference (BlueJeans platform) on ‘Earth Observations and COVID-19: A Virtual Round the Room Update’ on Friday, April 3rd from 11AM-1PM EDT (GMT-4).

During our recent GEO Health CoP Meeting, there was significant interest regarding research applications using Earth observations to examine associations with COVID-19 transmission. This is intended to be an active information sharing and gathering forum on who is doing what, and what EO are used or needed with regard to COVID-19. This includes both in-situ and satellite data!

If you would like to share information about your team’s or organization’s work, you may do so with, or without slides. Please make sure your interventions (3 slides max or verbal) cover the following main points:

  • Slide 1 – What are the research or applications projects that your team or organization is exploring related to COVID-19? What basic approaches are you using to explore this topic?

  • Slide 2 – What are the expected results, and how do you plan to use these results in real-time applications?

  • Slide 3 – What Earth observations are you using, and what other Earth observation data or products do you need?

Presenters will have five minutes to present their slides or verbal intervention, followed by a brief Q&A discussion. Please email your slides to Helena Chapman by 5PM EDT (GMT-4) on Thursday, April 2nd. Slides (PDF format) will be posted on the COVID19 tab of the GEO Health Community of Practice webpage.
